On the 29th of August 2019, a solemn meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IX convocation shall take place
The corresponding decision was made at the maiden sitting of the preparatory parliamentary group of newly elected Ukrainian parliamentarians today, August 9th. During the meeting, the floor was given to representatives of all the political forces that had entered the newly elected parliament.
Hectic discussions among participants of the meeting were fanned by the issue of quantity of parliamentary committees in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IX convocation.
The Chairman ventilated the position of the political party the People’s Servant: “We have worked hard on this issue. Today we can see 27 committees plus a commission on privatization. We suggest reducing the number of committees to 22". Dmytro Razumkov noted that the quantity optimization proposals would be presented to every political force of the new parliament. The participants agreed to submit those proposals by 4pm on Monday, August 12.
In addition, there were supported minimum and maximum quantitative compositions of the committees - seven and 31 MPs, as a preliminary.
Participants of the meeting also upheld the proposal to create two working sub-groups in charge of organizational issues within the preparatory parliamentary group, and instructed the Verkhovna Rada Apparatus correspondingly.
The next meeting of the preparatory group will be held on Wednesday, August 14 - at 11:00 am.
The preparatory group was headed by Dmytro Razumkov, a representative of the People's Servant Party, together with his first deputy Ruslan Stefanchuk - another representative of the People's Servant Party, - and Yaroslav Zhelezniak as the secretary – a representative of The Holos (“Voice”) Party.
