The committee head H.Hopko is on her working visit to Canada on July 2-4, 2019.
The conference is attended by the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland and other foreign ministers.
Ukraine is represented by the President of Ukraine V. Zelenskyi, Ukrainian ministers, members of the parliament, as well as representatives of our civil society, amalgamated territorial communities, and entrepreneurs.
The focus of the conference will be on economic growth in Ukraine and investments in our economy in the near-term outlook, security and trade, as well as protection of democratic values ??in the country.
In her speech, the committee head dwelt on the de-communization crusade, the political situation at the international scene and relations with the neighbouring countries.
H. Hopko took also part in a bilateral panel discussion with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Ch. Freeland. At the beginning of the conversation, the committee head expressed her gratitude for the consistent support to Ukraine’s independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty. The parties then discussed the current situation in Ukraine and exchanged views on topical issues of bilateral relations. They have focused, in particular, on discussing human rights issues, the release of Ukrainian political prisoners, and further steps to ensure Ukraine's development.
In her turn, Chrystia Freeland assured the Ukrainian side of further support by Canada.
