Opening the meeting of the Conciliation Board on Monday, June 3, Andriy Parubiy, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, put forward his proposals to the agenda of this plenary week.
According to him, this Tuesday will start with a final stage of consideration of the draft law "On agricultural сooperation". Then there will be discussed draft laws "On strengthening the responsibility for groundless refusal of preferential transportation of certain categories of citizens" and "On strengthening the responsibility for misuse of safety belts or motocycle crash helmets".
Thereafter the chamber shall review the draft law No.1098 “On temporary committees of inquiry and temporary special (ad hoc) committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine”. Another round of its consideration may fall on Wednesday, with the finish slated for Thursday.
Thursday’s session is to consider a cluster of laws extremely important for cooperation with the European Union - in particular, it is about bills on the implementation of EU law in the field of technical regulation and on ensuring the harmonization of criminal legislation with the provisions of international law.
The said Thursday’s sitting shall also see the bill No.3112-1 on the Electoral Code.
“This is the most large-scale draft bill we have considered during this term, and I really hope that we shall be able to hold utterly productive deliberations on the issue," stressed Andriy Parubiy, and then expressed his hope that "the Verkhovna Rada will carry out this sweeping and important work, and we will be able to adopt the open lists electoral code during this summer session".
