The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy opened the
meeting of the Conciliation Board on Monday.At the very off, the speaker expressed his strong wish that the sitting make room for discussions over the parliament’s blueprint for the work in the weeks ahead - in addition, in fact, to the ongoing week’s agenda.
The president’s representative Ruslan Stefanchuk was said to be in attendance at the meeting.
Electoral point
No consensus was alerted to have been achieved concerning amending the law to enable Rada’s elections via closed party lists at the recent consultations between the President and heads of parliamentary factions and groups. At the same time, A.Parubiy stressed that, in his opinion, the Parliament should adopt the electoral code with open lists. "I believe this is a great commitment of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the current convocation," he said.
The Chairman commissioned the head of the Committee on Legal Policy and Justice to urgently prepare the electoral code for the second reading during the next plenary week.
Impeachment law
The speaker also underscored the parliament should consider the president impeachment law and then instructed the Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure and Support to Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine accordingly.
Week’s plan
As per A. Parubiy, the ongoing plenary week is to start with a final consideration of the bill No.6447 covering amendments to the article 26 of the law of Ukraine on enforcement proceeding. The starter shall be followed by a cluster of social, home rule and security issues.
On Thursday the chamber shall see an array of agrarian draft bills and consider resignation of Ukraine’s prime minister and his cabinet.
Closing speeches
Then the floor was given to the heads of factions and groups, including the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine (as to upcoming performance report), the president’s representative Ruslan Stepanchuk and the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine-Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv.
After the speeches, the Chairman A.Parubiy closed the board sitting.
