Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement
The committee upholds the bill No.9326 on amendments to certain laws of Ukraine regarding providing due parliamentary control (oversight) over activities of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the procedure for impeaching credibility to its director.
The bill alters the laws of Ukraine “On the State Bureau of Investigation” and “On the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine”, so that to empower the parliament to monitor the SBI’s operations by the agency of impeaching its director’s credibility and yearly hearing the body’s performance reports at the chamber.
Committee on Public Health
The committee recommends the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to take it on the first reading the bill No.8464 on reworked amendments to the law of Ukraine “On ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population”.
The purposes of the thoroughly re-drafted law are:
- to define basic principles as well as general, legal, economic and social grounds for ensuring sanitary and epidemiological well-being on the territory of Ukraine;
obligations and responsibility of state (public) and local self-government bodies, corporate and natural entities in this area, rules and regulations of their legal relationship;
- to establish legal and organizational principles for the implementation of a state supervision (control) in the spheres of economic activity that may pose a risk to Ukraine’s sanitary and epidemiological well-being.
