The foreign affairs committee head Hanna Hopko takes part in the Warsaw Security Forum (October 24-25, 2018) – Warsaw, Poland

On October 24, she participated in a panel discussion on the topic “Impact of power play - natural wealth in the pay of the Kremlin. Case: “Nord Stream 2”. Speaking, she stressed the gravity of stopping the gas pipeline and articulated the gas project realization threats for Ukraine-EU’s energy co-autonomy.

On October 25, Hanna Hopko met with Andrius Kubilius, Deputy Chair of the Committee on European Affairs of the Seimas. They dwelt at length upon the “European plan” for Ukraine and the EU expansion prospects with Ukraine in the focus. A. Kubilius pronounced the pre-talked-of idea of would-be Ukraine’s accession to the EU by 2027.

In turn, Hanna Hopko informed the Lithuanian colleagues that the Ukrainian Parliament had recently supported the initiative of constitution amendments in terms of further joining the EU and NATO, which is part of the homework – the fundamental changes and reforms that could bring Ukraine closer to the EU.

The politician also met the Ukrainian diaspora, with the participation of the President of the Ukrainian World Congress Eugene Czolij, talking over the pressing issues of the international policy and the diaspora’s role in Poland and all over.
