The Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania expressed its solidarity and staunch support for Ukraine’s democratic reforms and its aspirations towards the Euro-Atlantic integration
On behalf of the Committee, Jouzas Bernatonis, the Chair, manifested solidarity and steadfast support for Ukraine’s democratic reforms and its aspirations towards the Euro-Atlantic integration.
In particular, the letter runs “the principle of geopolitical orientation enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania clearly presupposes our chosen path towards the European and transatlantic integration and the need to fulfil the international obligations arising from our membership in the European Union and NATO. This principle clearly shows the determination of our state to be part of the Western democratic community”.
We have a very useful Lithuanian experience and their support for the course chosen by Ukraine at all international levels. Lithuania is a reliable strategic partner, a true friend and ally for Ukraine.
In her turn, the foreign affairs committee head H. Hopko expressed her gratitude to the Lithuanian colleagues for their firm position, the support to Ukraine in its struggle for sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the assistance rendered on the path towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
