The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy opened the morning session.

Opening the morning plenary session of the Parliament, the Chairman A. Parubiy declared that Ukraine would never recognize the verdict of a Moscow court on the Ukrinform’s journalist Roman Sushchenko. According to him, yesterday the Moscow City Court sentenced the journalist to 12 years in a high security prison. "On behalf of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, I declare that Ukraine will never recognize this vicious verdict!  We condemn this trial and its sham sentence", he stressed.

A.Parubiy underlined that the Russian Federation had been and was an international terrorist: "By order of the criminal Putin, Russian special services capture our citizens trying by so doing to blackmail Ukraine".

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada urged allies of Ukraine - all countries of the free world and international organizations - to condemn the pseudo-verdict to journalist Roman Sushchenko and demand that Russia release all Ukrainian citizens - political prisoners of Russia.

He also warned Ukrainians from traveling to Putin's Russia - "because there is a real danger of being captured by Russian terrorists".

The Speaker informed the House that consideration of the supreme anticorruption court bill would be continued today at the current plenary session. “This issue is number one at present,” underscored the politician.

The Chairman gave the floor to representatives of parliamentary factions and groups who then made their announcements, statements, reports, and proposals.

Parliamentarians went on considering amendments to the bill No.7440 on supreme anticorruption court. 1463 amendments were reviewed.

The presiding officer closed the morning session.
