The committeemen made a working tour over the Donetsk Oblast (region).
On May 31, there took place a joint on-the-spot visit of the committee deputy head Serhii Kaplin and Nataliia Korolevska, MP, to Avdiivka, the Donetsk Oblast. The purpose of the working trip was to study the problems of internally displaced persons and persons living near the line of confrontation, including families with children.
Representatives of the local administration, the Ukraine’s pension fund, non-governmental organizations and several bankers teamed up the trip’s meetings.
In Avdiivka, they called upon the local social protection authority, having observed that the staff had been doing its utmost to meet all citizens’ demands under those extremely difficult conditions.
The committeemen also visited Verkhnotoretske, an urban-type settlement in the Donetsk Oblast, which is seated on the line of confrontation, in one kilometer from the combat zone. All participants of the working trip agreed that care should be taken to upgrade the only local school, which is a ‘learning house’ to more than 100 schoolchildren.
As a result of the visit, the committee members discussed with the local authorities a plan of action aimed at support and renewal of the eastern territories of Ukraine.
