The law on improving the rehabilitation procedure for the victims repressed by the Communist Totalitarian Regime 1917-1991 has been promulgated today in the herald of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine “Holos Ukrainy”.
The bill No.6574 was adopted at the Parliament on March 13 by 237 ayes, singed by the Chairman on March 21 and by the President of Ukraine on May 2.
The altered law refines the legal terminology, the essence and forms of the repressions themselves. The enactment also imputes constituting a network of rehabilitation commissions to all heads of oblast (regional) administrations, including Kyiv and Sevastopol municipal administrations.
The law runs that regulations of the national rehabilitation commission and regional rehabilitation commissions are to be approved by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
The instrument has introduced a set of amendments to a range of codes and laws of Ukraine involved.
