“The draft law on reintegration of the temporarily occupied Donbas territories (No.7164) strengthens Ukraine’s international position in campaigning against the Russian aggression profoundly,” said the First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Presidential envoy for peaceful settlement of the Donetsk-Luhansk clash Iryna Herashchenko at talks over the draft bill No.7164 on creation of necessary conditions for peaceful settlement of the situation in certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The First Vice-Speaker drew the audience’s attention that the law in question gives Ukrainian diplomats and the armed forces the needful tools to restore Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
In her speech, the politician touched upon the Minsk agreements so much discussed today by the parliamentary opposition groups. According to I.Herashchenko, there is no one who can name the mentioned accords perfect but the papers gave in due time the room to launch the anti-Russian sanctions, mitigate the heavy shelling, save Ukrainian lives and start multilateral talks with Russia over de-occupation of the seized Ukrainian lands.
At the discussions,
she also exploded the myth about the emergency home rules in the certain areas
of Donetsk-Luhansk oblasts, the myth, which had been energetically spread out by
the parliamentary opponents. “The law runs that the emergency home rules in the
certain areas of Donetsk-Luhansk oblasts will become effective only after a total
withdrawal of the illegal armed units, their weaponry, the hired guns and militants
from Ukraine’s territory,” stressed Iryna Herashchenko.
She also called on the parliamentary factions and groups’ heads to behave responsibly in view of the extra-importance of the bills considered.
