The Head of the Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations Hryhorii Nemyria held a task meeting with Marten Ehnberg, Representative of the Secretary General in charge of the co-ordination of the co-operation programmes in Ukraine – Head of the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine.
The parties had talks over
their cooperation in the forthcoming six months and priorities in project
activities to be included in the Action Plan for Ukraine 2018-2021, prepared by
the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine.
The sitting reflected a current state of affairs with the human rights protection in Ukraine. Particular attention was paid to infringement of rights of internally displaced persons and those who live in the ATO zone and the temporarily occupied territories; to the rights of ethnic minorities; to electoral rights of Ukrainians -- and the internally displaced persons, in particular.
