Committee on Financial Policy and Banking

...has conducted a widened discussion on the strategy and further development in the financial and banking sector. The meeting was attended by members of the committee, acting head of the National Bank of Ukraine and the Council, some representatives from the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. As it has been noted, the state of affairs in the sector is still vague and challenging, and the practical loss of bank lending has resulted from the recent cutback in our industrial production. And one of the key tasks of these days is help banks cut off non-performing and bad loans. Another one allowing to clean up the situation, seems to be a wary hike in structural refinancing of banks.

Following up on the meeting the committeemen have decided to hold a selective entry of members for state banks’ oversight boards next plenary week; and to appeal to the Ukrainian president for immediate submitting of candidacy for the National Bank’s head.

Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information Policy

…has considered some branch-wise draft bills and issues, and bill No.1237 on the spread of print media in the state language and bill No.6518 on official promulgation of Ukrainian laws and regulations among them.

Committee on Budget

…recommends the Parliament to accept bills No.6379 and 6378 standing for the Kharkov State Aircraft Manufacturing Company, both aimed at its supporting and deterring from the downfall on the score of insolvency. Members of the Committee draw attention that both of the bills do relate to the defenses and the national security.   

Committee on Construction, Urban Development, Housing and Communal Services

A core of ministerial experts, Kyiv city administration, the branch-wise organizations, local authorities, managers of heating, water-supply and sewerage enterprises had a discussion on the branch problems. In the outcome of the meeting it has been decided to appeal to the supreme force for immediate actions towards tiding over the overall breakdown in the branch, and in view of the next heating season in particular.

The committee also recommends the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to accept the following draft bills:

-the second reading of bill No.4901 on commercial accounting in utility services;

-the second reading of bill No.4941-d on energy efficiency of buildings;

-the second reading of bill No.1581-d on housing and communal services;

-the second reading of bill No.4189 with amendments to the law of Ukraine on ban against totalitarian propaganda;

-the second reading of bill No.4264 on primary housing for internally displaced persons (out-migrants from Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, and the Crimea).
