The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine hosted on May 23 the first session of the inter-Parliamentary liaison group with the Republic of Macedonia, which was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Macedonia in Ukraine Stole Zmejkoski.

The Ukrainian side consisted of Andrii Shynkovych, the group head, Hanna Hopko, the Head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and five MPs – the group members.

The participants had talks over strengthening of the mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries, taking into account the EU had granted Macedonia better trade terms than Ukraine at present. The trade cooperation might hence become a key driver for tighter links between Ukraine and Macedonia. The next one may be widening of the mutual social connections.

Stole Zmejkoski, the Ambassador, shared the group’s viewpoint upon economic and trade collaboration, investments, having stressed the countries’ experts ought to intensify the bilateral efforts.

‘This group’s birth originates from a good and cooperative relationship our beautiful countries have long maintained, and it does confirm our strong bonds of friendship,’ noted Stole Zmejkoski.

The Ambassador made also an accent upon desirable deepening of historical and cultural ties between our nations.
