The parties of the meeting between European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, Foreign Affairs Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark Kristian Jensen, leadership of the Ukrainian anticorruption institutions and Chair of the Committee on Corruption Prevention and Counteraction, Yehor Sobolev, announced new program destined to assist all Ukrainian anticorruption bodies. The assistance will encompass consultations, training, potential strengthening; financial aid in a form of IT-equipment and software.
According to the statement made within the framework of the meeting, despite the fact that new anticorruption bodies started its work in Ukraine, they still require considerable enhancement.
The program will provide required support for these institutions.
The Verkhovna Rada will be assisted in supervision over these bodies. Besides, the civil society and media will be assisted in carrying out supervision over the implementation of the program.
Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) will implement the program. The DANIDA in Ukraine will involve representatives from other member countries, in particular, from the Central and Eastern Europe.
The total budget of the program is EUR 16.34 million, including EUR 15 million from the European Union and the rest from Denmark.
