On September 7, the members of the Committee considered the bill No. 4668 "On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine introducing state social assistance for children of late breadwinners" updated for second reading.
Respective assistance is offered from the day of breadwinner's death if the children do not receive pension or another social assistance (except for disabled children assistance).
In compliance with the bill, such children will receive the said assistance until they become 18 and those studying until 23.
At that the bill sets the size of the assistance depending on the number of children, who lost their breadwinners: 100% of the living wage per child, 120% for two children; and 150% for three and more children.
The assistance is introduced despite the amount of family income.
As a result of the discussion, the Committee decided to recommend that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopt the bill in second reading and in principle.
