Committee on Legislative Support to Enforcement discusses proposals of President of Ukraine to Law of Ukraine "On amnesty in 2016"

During their meeting on September 7, the Committee members noted that the Law of Ukraine "On amnesty in 2016" was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on July 7, 2016.

On July 15, the Law was signed by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, and immediately sent for signing by the President of Ukraine.

However, on August 17, the President of Ukraine vetoed the Law and returned it to the Verkhovna Rada with remarks for repeat consideration.

According to results of the discussion, the Committee decided to address A.Herasymov, the President's Envoy to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, requesting provision of the Committee with specified text of the presidential remarks to the Law of Ukraine No. 1435-VIII "On amnesty in 2016" dated July 7, 2016.
