Deputy Chairperson of the Committee M.Ionova chaired a regular meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on European Integration with the participation of Deputy Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine V.Dovhan.
The Committee members considered conformity of a number of draft laws with the Law of the European Union, obligations of Ukraine within the framework of the Council of Europe, and the Association Agreement between Ukraine on the one hand and the European Union, European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) and their member countries on the other hand.
The Committee members ruled that the draft laws Nos. 4619, 4644, 2014a and 2361a correspond to the law of the European Union and the international obligations of Ukraine.
The draft law No. 4619 offers to raise the excise for tobacco goods.
The draft law No. 4644 guarantees proper level of security during transportation of hazardous cargoes by road, rail and river.
The draft law No. 2014a protects the rights of consumers-individuals finding themselves in tough economic situation and cannot fulfill their obligations under consumer loan contracts.
The draft law No. 2361a aims to regulate the issue of collecting cancellation penalty for improper observance or nonobservance of contractual duties in the field of consumer legal relations.
Besides, the Committee members adopted the draft resolution "On parliamentary hearings recommendations on "Transfrontier cooperation as element of European integration of Ukraine (June 8, 2016)."
