The Committee recommends that the Verkhovna Rada adopt the draft law No. 4809 on creation of conditions for international cooperation and development of domestic aircraft industry as a basis and in principle. The legislative initiative envisions authorization of state-run aircraft building enterprises, such as ANTONOV company, to establish joint enterprises with international partners.
The Committee additionally offered to prolong state assistance in selling domestic aircrafts through the mechanism of loan cheapening until 2025.
Chairperson of the Committee Viktor Halasiuk noted that today, the state's support for the Ukrainian aircraft building sector is absolutely insufficient and that there are a lot of regulatory obstacles for Ukraine to implement aviation projects with foreign partners.
He said that the adoption of the draft law will allow ANTONOV company to establish joint enterprises in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
At the same time, Viktor Halasiuk notes that another important step to support and develop domestic aircraft building sector should be the establishment of an expert-credit agency envisioned by the draft law No. 2142a already adopted by the Ukrainian Parliament in first reading.
