The participants in the roundtable were people's deputies of Ukraine, representatives of Health Ministry of Ukraine, Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, blood transfusion centers, international organizations, clinics, mass media organizations, lawyers, etc.
The event's major goal was to attract attention of the bodies of state power and the society to current problems in the functioning of the blood supply service in Ukraine, its development and bringing in line with the best international standards.
The roundtable was initiated by people's deputy of Ukraine / Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Public Health Iryna Sysoyenko.
Having discussed all the problems in the sector, the roundtable participants approved respective Resolution containing a number of top-priority measures to be taken by the legislative, executive and local self-government bodies to form blood donor service in Ukraine in line with the European and international standards.
