The draft law No. 4784 offers to supplement the Law with Article 17-1 to determine mentorship as voluntary free activity related to provision individual support and assistance in preparation of orphans and children deprived of parental care for responsible life.
Besides, the draft law contains a term obliging a mentor to bear responsibility for infringement of rights and legal interests of a child.
The draft law obliges the offices of children's services to control the observance of rights and interests of children within mentorship.
During the discussion, the Committee members supported the proposal to introduce the institution of mentorship to facilitate better integration of children with the society. They also supported the proposal to apply mentorship also for all children brought up in boarding schools.
