The participants in the Committee meeting on July 6 noted that the draft law No. 4890 is aimed at the improvement of the provisions of the effective law "On fundamentals of national security of Ukraine" and the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine in order to create mechanisms and take effective measures aimed at detection of corrupt property and assets.
In particular, the draft law offers to supplement Articles 7 and 8 of the Law of Ukraine "On fundamentals of national security of Ukraine," which determine the threats to national security of Ukraine and major trends in state policy on national security.
It also offers to supplement the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine with new Chapter 242 to prescribe the preconditions for the collection of unfounded assets in favor of the state.
The people's deputies consider that the adoption of the draft law will allow returning funds of corrupt officials to the state budget and prevent all further offences of that kind.
