Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship Viktor Halasiuk has taken part in the ceremony of opening of a tea factory by the Unilever British–Dutch consumer goods company. The factory was opened in the town of Hostomel (Kyiv region).

Viktor Halasiuk noted that the new factory means almost UAH 200 million of private investments in Ukraine and the creation of 100 jobs. He added that opening new factories and plants should become a good tradition for Ukraine. The Chairperson of the Committee promised to continue fighting for creation of the best investment conditions.

During his talk with Paul Polman, the CEO of Unilever, Viktor Halasiuk presented a number of priorities the Committee can offer to the producers: a package of foreign currency liberalization and deregulation; introduction of powerful investment stimuli for new producers; demonopolization of the energy resources supply market; etc.

Reference information: the total amount of investments in the factory and a warehouse of the Logistic Plus provider with the total area of 9,000 square meters was EUR 8.3 million.

The production line is constructed under the international standards of Unilever. The tea will be delivered to the Ukrainian Unilever factory from Kenya, Sri Lanka, India, Argentina, Indonesia and Vietnam.
