On Thursday, Acting Head of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Slyshynskyi met with Coordinators of European Parliament program on intensification of capacity building of the Ukrainian Parliament Andrej Plenkovic and Pat Cox.
According to Deputy Head of the Secretariat Volodymyr Bondarenko, Slyshynskyi informed the attendants of the meeting about results of the implementation of the recommendations provided by the Needs Assessment Mission of the European Parliament.
The participants in the meeting discussed the draft law on reformation of the Verkhovna Rada Regulations, changes in the staff policy, future steps on advanced training of the personnel, language training courses for the Secretariat employees.
Mr. Cox noted that the Ukrainian Parliament had taken serious steps to implement the recommendations of the Needs Assessment Mission of the European Parliament.
The first phase of the implementation of the recommendations was to sign the Letter of Intent between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, and the UN Development Programme on Friday.
