On June 14, 2016, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Culture and Spirituality considered the draft resolution "On Address of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to Archbishop of Constantinople and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I regarding provision of autocephaly to Orthodox Church in Ukraine."

The draft resolution urges the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Ukraine to immediately sent the text of the Address to Archbishop of Constantinople and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I.

Respective draft resolution was registered under No. 4793.
