Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubii opened the morning plenary meeting.

Delivering his opening speech at the Wednesday plenary meeting, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubii reminded people's deputies that Ukraine celebrates Children's Day every first day of summer.

This date was established by the women's international congress in Paris in 1949. This happened four years after the most horrible war in the history of the mankind — WWII.

At the same time, he noted that in the times of the war in Donbas, the issue of the children's protection is of particular importance today. "According to the data I have, a total of 68 children have been killed since the start of the combat activities in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. A total of 186 children have been wounded so far. According to the information we have, recently Russian drones have started to throw various explosive devices that take lives of adult civilians and children," Andrii Parubii said.

The people's deputies delivered their speeches, presented specific information and proposals.

The people's deputies of Ukraine adopted the Resolution "On parliamentary hearings on state of the youth in Ukraine: Values of modern Ukrainian youth"

In compliance with the Resolution, the parliamentary hearings are scheduled for November 2, 2016.

Respective draft resolution was registered under No. 4677.

The parliamentarians also adopted the draft law "On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine" (as to organization of recreation for children and retention of the existing network of children's recreational institutions)

Besides, they adopted the draft law No. 3124 "On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine" (as to measures aimed at facility of the development of natural reserve fund of Ukraine) as a basis

Besides, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted the draft law "On amendments to Civil Code of Ukraine" (touching the right to change paternal name) as a basis

The draft law offers to supplement Article 295 of the Civil Code of Ukraine with provisions that let individuals change their paternal names.

Respective draft law was registered under No. 2018.

The people's deputies considered the draft resolution No. 4704 on establishment of an interim investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to investigate facts covered by some mass media organizations touching the use of offshore companies by the President of Ukraine and other high-ranking officials.

As a result of the voting, the draft resolution was rejected.

The parliamentarians did not support the draft resolutions No. 3864-П that abolish the decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dated May 19, 2016 to adopt (in principle) the draft resolution on renaming the city of Dnipropetrovsk of Dnipropetrovsk region, and No. 4085-П that abolishes the decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dated May 19, 2016 to adopt (as a basis and in principle) the draft resolution on renaming of some population centers and districts.
