During the meeting on May 18, the parties discussed the situation in Ukraine and the current activity of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in our country, in particular in responding the crisis challenges.
Manfred Profazi informed on the activity of the IOM in Ukraine and emphasized on the importance of cooperation with the Committee in this area.
They also discussed the issue of protecting the rights and freedoms of internally displaced persons in Ukraine. The Chief of Mission assured of the support for Ukraine in this direction and expressed solidarity with the people of our country.
In this connection Hryhorii Nemyria informed his interlocutor on the recent extended field meeting of the Committee held in the Donetsk region to monitor the situation with the protection of rights of internally displaced persons and citizens of Ukraine living in the ??anti-terrorist operation zone, and analyze the implementation of the current legislation on IDPs.
Following the meeting it was decided to create a monitoring group composed of people's deputies of Ukraine on the rights of internally displaced persons and citizens of Ukraine living in the ??anti-terrorist operation zone.
In addition, Manfred Profazi invited Hryhorii Nemyria to participate in a conference on the situation with internal migrants in Ukraine, which is slated by the IOM for June.
