A total of 274 people's deputies registered for taking part in the Friday plenary meeting.

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii opened the morning plenary meeting.

The Speaker informed that the participants in the meeting were the members of the Ukrainian Government and Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.

Parubii said: "Ukraine has celebrated Europe Day every third Saturday of May since 2003. It is a special day for the Ukrainians. Two years ago during the Revolution of Dignity, the Ukrainian people proved Ukraine is indeed an independent state. We are the state that stood at the origins of the European civilization. Ukraine was one of the originators of Europe as a phenomenon, as civilization space."

Parubii congratulated everyone on the holiday.

"An hour of questions to the Government of Ukraine" started at the Ukrainian Parliament.

Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Taras Kutovyi informed the people's deputies about the course of the land reform, the state support to farmers and the legislating of respective reforms.

Taras Kutovyi presented a number of priorities in the work of the ministry.

He said that his ministry plans to implement reforms in the fields of development of rural territories, expansion of sales markets for domestic commodities, organic production, irrigation, as well as safety and quality of foodstuffs.

Head of the National Civil Service Agency of Ukraine Kostiantyn Vaschenko reported on the implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On civil service."

Vaschenko informed that all regulatory documents required to implement the Law, had been elaborated, and civil servants had been trained.

The head of the national agency also replied some questions touching legal grounds in activity of local self-government officials.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and members of the Government replied a number of other questions asked by the people's deputies.

First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Heraschenko read deputy requests.

The people's deputies considered and decided to reject the draft resolution on abolition of the Verkhovna Rada's decision of May 17, 2016 to adopt the draft law "On amendments to Law of Ukraine "On television and radio broadcasting" (as to determination of Europe-made programs and TV shows).

The people's deputies delivered their speeches, provided announcements and proposals.

First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Heraschenko closed the plenary meeting.

On May 23-27, the people's deputies will work with voters.

Next plenary meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 31.
