The Verkhovna Rada is hosting the Information Fair - 2016, where USAID Program presents resources and opportunities for cooperation with civil society organizations and international donors to MPs, their assistants, the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat and mass media. The solemn opening ceremony started with a news briefing with the participation of First Deputy Verkhovna Rada Speaker Iryna Heraschenko, Chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Hanna Hopko and representatives of USAID. The exhibition has brought together over 40 projects and organizations cooperating with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

NGOs and projects of international technical assistance already have a lot of experience, projects and expertise in various fields. These resources can be used by legislators at different stages of their work. In addition, the civil society is ready to join the work of the Parliament, its Committees and the Secretariat to make Ukraine's Parliament more accountable, transparent and effective.

"I am glad to see today so many organizations and programs implemented by USAID, other donors and partners, who are ready to join efforts and further support the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The U.S. Agency for International Development will continue supporting the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in its intentions to implement democratic reforms," said Kate Somvongsiri, Director of the USAID Office of Democracy, Human Rights and Governance.
