Following the sitting it was decided to begin organizing a visit to the USA by the delegation of group leadership and members of subgroups in the period of May 23-27, 2016. The working visit preliminary foresees round tables with the participation of representatives of Ukrainian caucuses of the Senate and the House of Representatives, meetings in the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Armed Services Committee in both houses of the Congress, and organization of congressional hearings dedicated to Ukraine.
Apart from the aforementioned, co-chairperson of the US-Ukraine group Viktor Halasiuk announced the composition of sub-groups in charge of elaboration of four Policy Papers dedicated to the following: Economic development and financial assistance (coordinator V.Halasiuk);
Institutional reform and corruption counteraction (coordinator V.Chumak);
Geopolitics and national security (coordinator Ye.Rybchynskyi);
Humanitarian cooperation (coordinator V.Ariyev).
Next week planned is final discussion and approval by members of the US-Ukraine group of the final draft Policy Papers, and then they plan to examine the drafts at the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship.
