Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii, Head of the Needs Assessment Mission of the European Parliament Pat Cox and co-chair of the parliamentary commission for EU-Ukraine Association / Member of the European Parliament for Croatia Andrej Plenkovic discussed the course of reforms in Ukraine, in particular, the prospects of internal reform of the Ukrainian Parliament, and further cooperation between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the newly appointed Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Groysman and Parubii confirmed their intention to deepen the cooperation between the Government and the Ukrainian legislature. "It is very important to organize effective cooperation between the Parliament and the Government. The doors are open today, and we'll be able to make it very rapidly," the Prime Minister said.

Groysman noted that the internal reform of the Parliament is one of the key reforms demanding implementation and expressed readiness for its implementation as the Prime Minister of Ukraine. At the same time, he said that the Cabinet of Ministers also needed reformation and expressed hope for cooperation in that field.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada assured of his willingness to continue the internal parliamentary reform launched last year and said he will assist in deepening of cooperation with the Government. "The communication between the Parliament and the Cabinet of Ministers will be one of the major tasks of the authorities," he noted.

Commenting on the establishment of the new Cabinet of Ministers, Groysman said that it was a good start to the settlement of the political crisis in the country. "Now it is important to make this reload, this renewal a mechanism that will intensify the implementation of reforms and important decisions," the Prime Minister said.

In turn, the parties congratulated Parubii on the election as the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada and Groysman on the election as the Prime Minister of Ukraine and wished them success in the implementation of obligations they took.

Andrej Plenkovic said that soon, the European Commission would provide legislative proposal on the liberalization of the visa regime for Ukraine by the European Union. He also called on the Ukraine authorities to intensify work on European integration, in particular, on the eve of the Ukraine-EU Summit on May 19.

Groysman and Parubii thanked Pat Cox and Andrej Plenkovic for their constant support and expressed hope for further cooperation.
