Current convocation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has always been effective and able to take important decisions.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman had said this before the people's deputies of Ukraine considered the recall of the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada from his post.
"Today I resign as the Chairperson of the Ukrainian Parliament. Dear colleagues, I have worked with you for 1.5 years. I have learnt very much from it. However, I know that the Ukrainian Parliament has always been effective even in the most difficult situations," he said.
Groysman reminded that this Parliament has passed a number of important decisions, in particular, it adopted the anticorruption legislation, a package of 'visa-free laws,' it declared the Russian Federation the aggressor, conducted the decentralization of power and initiated a number other systemic reforms.
Besides, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is now a step from the implementation of its internal reform. Groysman called on the participants in the Thursday plenary meeting not to stop the implementation of the 52 recommendations elaborated along with the European Parliament.
At the same time, Groysman expressed hope that the Parliament and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will together change the system of cooperation. "We are all the one. We have to work the way to involve deputies, society, experts in the elaboration of our state strategy," he noted.
The Prime Minister also welcomed First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii on his nomination for the post of the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada. Groysman thanked Parubii and Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oksana Syroyid for the joint work in a team, understanding and support, and thanked all the people's deputies of Ukraine and the leaders of the parliamentary factions for their "hard work."
"I swear that together we will take decisions in favor of our state. There will be challenges, however, we will make it," Groysman said.
