Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legislative Support to Enforcement recommends Ukrainian Parliament adopt as a basis and in principle draft law "On amendments to Item 1 of Chapter VI Final and Transitional Provisions of Law of Ukraine "On State Bureau of Investigation" (as to term of establishment)

On February 19, the Committee members noted that the draft law No. 4099 offers to suspend the enactment of the Law of Ukraine "On State Bureau of Investigation" from March 1, 2016 to September 1, 2016.

On November 12, 2015, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law of Ukraine "On State Bureau of Investigation," which takes effect from the date of establishment by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of respective central executive body engaged in law enforcement activity to prevent, detect, terminate, reveal and investigate crimes it is competent in, but not later than on March 1, 2016.

Taking in account certain length of the procedure of the tender for the State Bureau of Investigation director, his deputies, directors of territorial agencies and heads of subdivisions of the central secretariat, the Committee members supported the suspending of the establishment of the State Bureau of Investigation for September 1, 2016.
