Today in the Committee on Legal Policy and Justice held was a meeting of the working group to examine the draft Law "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On ensuring the right to a fair trial" (on ensuring the rights of judges holding positions in the courts, which stopped functioning over natural disasters, military actions, holding of the antiterrorist operation)" No. 3328 of October 15, 2015.
The event was attended by representatives of the Supreme Court, the Council of Judges, the High Council of Justice, the High Qualification Commission of Judges, the Association for the Development of Judicial Self-Government, judges holding positions in the courts, which stopped functioning over the antiterrorist operation in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, and people's deputies Yemets L.O., Yanytskyi V.P., Sydorovych R.M.
At the meeting they discussed the situation in which occurred the judges who relocated from the occupied territories, main problems arising over the imperfection of legal regulation of their legal status and order of attachment to the courts. Particular attention was paid to the situation of judges, who ended their five-year term of office, and the peculiarities of the suspension of judges' attachment.
The meeting ended in the decision to submit prepared new wording of the draft law for the examination of the Committee on Legal Policy and Justice for subsequent submission to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
