The Chairperson of the Committee said this at the meeting with Vanno Noupech, a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Deputy Regional Representative.

The Parties discussed the situation in Ukraine, in particular, the problems of protection of rights and freedoms of the internally displaced persons.

Mr. Noupech informed about the efforts taken by the UNHCR in this field and informed about the concluding report of the organization "Major problems in field of protection of rights and recommendations of the UNHCR on situation in Ukraine."

The Parties also discussed the preparation for the parliamentary hearings entitled "Status of protection of rights of internally displaced persons and Ukrainian citizens living on temporarily occupied territories" and scheduled for February 17.
