Verkhovna Rada Committee on Financial Policy and Banking suggests Ministry of Finance take in account international experience in non-profit status of credit unions and in non-obliging them to use cash registers during consideration of further amendments to respective legislation

Respective decision was taken by the Committee at its meeting on February 3.

The Committee also asked the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine to include its representatives to the workgroup for elaboration of such amendments.

Chairperson of the Committee Serhii Rybalka reminded that at its meeting on January 29, 2016, the Committee considered the development of the credit system. "We have listened to reports by representatives of credit unions and their associations, representatives of bodies of state power and scientists, and had respective discussion," he said.

According to Rybalka, one of the major problems the credit coordination system has faced since the start of this year is the amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine "On use of cash registers in the sector of trade, public catering and services," which, in fact, deprived credit unions of their non-profit status and introduced compulsory use of cash registers by credit unions.
