Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopts draft law on amendments to Constitution of Ukraine (touching justice) in first reading

The draft law aims to improve constitutional fundamentals of justice for practical implementation of the supremacy of law principle and consolidation of universal right to the fair trial.

The draft law offers to provide new wordings of Articles 124 - 129, 130, 131, 147 - 148, 149, 151, 153 of the Basic Law of Ukraine, to supplement the Constitution of Ukraine with new Articles 129-1, 130-1, 131-1 - 131-2, 148-1, 149-1, 151-1 - 151-2, to amend Articles 29, 55, 59, 85, 92, 106, 108, 110, 111, 136, 150, 152, to amend Chapter ХV "Transitional provisions" of the Basic Law of Ukraine, and to exclude Chapter VII "Prosecutor's office" from the Constitution of Ukraine.

Respective draft law was registered under No. 3524.

The draft resolution "On preliminary adoption of the adapted draft law on amendments to Constitution of Ukraine (touching justice)" was registered under No. 3524/П2.
