Following the work carried out by the Committee the parliament adopted two laws that were included in the List of draft laws aimed at meeting the criteria in the framework of the implementation of the second phase of the Action Plan on liberalization of the European Union's visa regime for Ukraine.
In particular, on November 5 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law "On external labor migration," which defines legal and organizational principles of state regulation of external labor migration and social protection of citizens of Ukraine who temporarily performed or perform work abroad and their family members.
It should be noted that the version of the draft law elaborated by the Ministry of Social Policy and submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers, needed substantial finalization. That is why following the preparation by the Committee of the draft law for the second reading, it was supported by the Verkhovna Rada as a whole and approved as the Law.
The World Congress of Ukrainians in Ukraine expressed its gratitude to the Chairperson of the Committee Liudmyla Denisova for successful cooperation over the adopted law. On November 23, it was signed by the President of Ukraine.
On the proposal of the Committee the Parliament adopted as a whole the draft Labour Code of Ukraine No. 1658, finalized.
After the MPs had supported it in the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada, the Committee started work on its preparation for the second reading.
To this end, the Committee established a working group, which included representatives of ministries and other central executive government bodies, social partners, NGOs and scientists. To ensure parity representation of the sides in the social dialogue, in the leadership of the working group defined were deputies to the Chairperson of the working group from the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, employers and trade unions.
