On January 27, 2016, the Committee members considered the issue "On situation with influenza and acute respiratory viral infection and expectations as to further development of the epidemiological situation in 2016."
According to the Health Ministry of Ukraine, the epidemic threshold has been exceeded in 18 regions of Ukraine. The epidemic threshold was exceeded by over 50% in 11 of them: Kyiv and Kyiv region, Rivne region, Ternopil region, Chernivtsi region, Sumy region, Poltava region, Kirovohrad region, Dnipropetrovsk region, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Restriction measures have been introduced in all administrative regions of Ukraine. As at January 27, 2016, the education process was terminated at over 11,800 general educational establishments, children education and other establishments.
The epidemical situation with influenza has aggravated not only in Ukraine. The activity of the virus has been registered in 32 countries out of 41 countries of the European region part of the World Health Organization.
According to the Health Ministry of Ukraine, since early 40th week of 2015, Ukraine has registered over 120 deaths as a result of influenza; in over 80% of cases the influenza type was А(H1N1)pdm09.
As a result of the consideration, the Committee declared the work of the Health Ministry of Ukraine in the field of prophylactics, diagnosing and treatment of viral hepatitis unsatisfactory.
