Working with appeals in fulfillment of the Law "On appeals of citizens" is one of the important parts of the activities in the Committee.
In 2015, according to statistical data, the Committee received 3,390 appeals of citizens. Among them the biggest number constitute applications and complaints from pensioners - 667 appeals, or 19.7% of the entire volume. However, the Chairperson of the Committee was addressed by 192 persons imprisoned or with limited freedom, 111 unemployed, 87 businessmen, 31 civil servants, 27 public employees and other categories of the population. Among the share of vulnerable categories of applicants prevailed appeals of pensioners and disabled of I-III groups.
Of the total number of appeals received by the Secretariat of the Committee in 2015, they provided explanation on 1,681 appeals, or about 50%, 793 appeals or about 23% were forwarded to the competent executive power bodies, 338 appeals or about 10% were settled positively.
Also in 2015, the Chairperson of the Committee, his first deputy, deputy chairperson and members of the Committee in accordance to the schedules of personal reception of citizens approved by the resolution of the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, on February 18 and October 1, 2015 held two personal receptions of citizens and met with 77 people, following which they examined and processed about 90 appeals.
Personal receptions of citizens were carried out by Chairperson of the Committee Kniazevych R.P., First Deputy Chairperson Yemets L.O., Deputy Chairperson Alekseyev S.O. and Committee members Alekseyev I.S., Denysenko A.S., Lapin I.O., Makedon Yu.M., Romaniuk R.S., Sydorovych R.M., Storozhuk D.A., Chernenko O.M.
In 2015 the Committee members, the Committee secretariat employees objectively considered appeals of citizens with providing exhaustive answers on the issues in the competence of the Committee with strict abidance by the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Regulations, laws of Ukraine "On the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committees," and "On status of people's deputy of Ukraine."
