Last year the Committee held 34 meetings, where it examined 172 draft laws and 12 resolutions.
In 2015, the Committee prepared and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada:
- 31 draft laws in the first reading;
- two draft laws in the repeated first reading;
- three draft laws with the proposals of the President of Ukraine;
- two draft laws in the second reading.
The Committee has in consideration 44 draft laws, where the Committee was defined as the principal drafter.
Upon the recommendation of the Committee adopted were 37 laws of Ukraine.
The Parliament approved:
- on December 25, 2015 decision of the President of Ukraine on admitting units of armed forces of other states on the territory of Ukraine in 2016 for participation in multinational exercise (admitting units of armed forces of other states on the territory of Ukraine in 2016 for participation in multinational exercise with the training of the armed forces, multinational exercise Maple Arch 2016, Ukraine-U.S. exercise Sea Breeze 2016, Ukraine-U.S. exercise Rapid Trident-2016).
- on November 12, 2015 decision of the President of Ukraine on admitting units of armed forces of other states on the territory of Ukraine for participation in multinational exercises (admitting units of armed forces of the United States and other NATO member states and member states of the Partnership for Peace program to Ukraine in November and December 2015 for participation in multinational exercise with the training of the armed forces);
- on March 17, 2015 decision of the President of Ukraine on admitting units of armed forces of other states on the territory of Ukraine in 2015 for participation in multinational exercise (admitting units of armed forces of other states on the territory of Ukraine in 2015 to participate in the Ukraine-U.S. training Fearless Guardian-2015, Ukraine-U.S. exercise Sea Breeze 2015, Ukraine-U.S. exercise Saber Guardian / Rapid Trident-2015, Ukraine-Poland training of air units Safe Skies 2015, Ukraine-Poland exercise of military police Law and Order 2015).
The Committee elaborated Section II "Reform of the national security and defense system" of the Plan on legislative support to the reforms in Ukraine.
The Secretariat of the Committee informed the Information Office that as at January 12, 2016 the Committee had in consideration 302 draft laws, and in 119 draft laws the Committee is defined as the principal drafter.
