Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legislative Support to Enforcement recommends Ukrainian Parliament adopt as a basis draft law "On amendments to Law of Ukraine "On safeguarding activity" (as to cooperation with interior affairs bodies and right to stub-barreled semiautomatic rifled fire arms)

The draft law No. 2270a offers to allow security services using own transport and cooperating with interior affairs agencies to acquire, keep and use stub-barreled semiautomatic rifled fire arms. Precise types of such weapons are set by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

According to people's deputies, the implementation of the draft law's provisions, which envision use of stub-barreled semiautomatic rifled fire arms in two cases — safeguarding of property and joint patrolling with officers of interior affairs agencies, can improve the level of security at the guarded facilities the security of individuals during public order operations.
