The draft law (No.3579) contains amendments to the Law "On Fundamentals of National Security of Ukraine," having provided that the protection of children is one of the important areas of national interests of Ukraine. It is envisaged to acknowledge that a growth of danger to life and health of civilians, especially children, as a result of hostilities or armed conflicts is among the main threats to national interests and national security of Ukraine.
In addition, the draft law proposes making amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On the Foundations of Domestic and Foreign Policy," which envisage that ensuring of special care for the child and fulfillment of his/her rights is defined as the principle of domestic policy.
During the consideration, the Committee members stressed in particular that the protection of rights and legal interests of children is one of the priorities of the state policy of Ukraine.
