Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legislative Support to Enforcement recommends Ukrainian Parliament adopt as a basis draft law "On amendments to Article 265 of Penal Code of Ukraine" (as to voluntary handing-over of radioactive materials)

The draft law No. 2518a offers to free from criminal responsibility the persons, who voluntarily hand over radioactive materials to the authorities.

The Committee members consider that the implementation of the draft law's provisions will considerably improve the state of radiation security thanks to withdrawal of radioactive materials from the population and legal entities.
