"Proposals made by educators during the field meeting in Kramatorsk, are invaluable for determining the protective role of education," said Chairperson of the Committee on Science and Education Lilia Hrynevych at a meeting of the Committee on December 23.
Making a report on the approval of a decision of the field meeting on the topic "On the practice of application of legislative acts in the Donetsk region on the functioning of education sphere in the conditions of the antiterrorist operation," Chairperson of the Committee pointed to the efforts of educators directed at protecting children and youth living directly in the conditions of the armed conflict, ensuring the availability and quality of education, creating favorable conditions for all participants of the educational process, restoring functioning of damaged educational institutions, and renovating their material and technical base.
According to Lilia Hrynevych, for all graduates of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions created were conditions for obtaining documents on education, registering and passing external independent testing and enrolling in higher education institutions, amended was the budget program "Education subvention from the state budget to local budgets," under which education subventions are transferred twice a month, and elaborated was the procedure of ordering, registering and issuing duplicates of documents on general secondary education of the government-approved format to the persons who have completed secondary education in schools in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and in schools of separate settlements of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. They also legally regulated the issue of students of vocational schools' traineeship and employment of graduates of these institutions.
Participating in the meeting employees of the Committee and MPs drew attention to the need for continued task-oriented and coordinated work of all branches of power in determination at the nationwide level of a protective role of education, its key meaning for stabilizing the situation in the conflict zone concerning engaging in drafting of legislation on education of representatives of educational institutions, scientists, representatives of educational NGOs representing the regions where the antiterrorist operation is held, and concerning developing an effective mechanism of social protection of persons performing professional duties with respect to children in the zone of the antiterrorist operation.
