Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Policy recommends Ukrainian Parliament adopt in second reading and in principle draft law "On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine" (as to management of state property)

In particular, the draft law No. 3062 envisions a move towards the effective management of state property and elimination of corruption schemes. In compliance with the draft law, state officials (heads of ministries) will have to be removed from the posts of heads of state-owned companies. Instead the said companies have to be transferred to corporate management in compliance with the standards of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Supervisory boards formed with independent members will manage state-owned enterprises as well as economic entities with the state stake of 50% and more. Besides, these enterprises are subjected to compulsory audit and promulgation of information about their activity.
