The Law restores guarantees of social protection of former officers of the bodies of internal affairs of Ukraine and members of their families, as by the provisions of the new Law "On the National Police" the guarantees of social protection were not spread on these law enforcement officers and their family members, including the families of law enforcement officers killed (dead), went missing or disabled during their service in the law enforcement bodies; citizens of Ukraine from among former law enforcement officers dismissed from the service due to health, age, redundancy, and their families; persons dismissed from the service in the law enforcement bodies and declared as disabled of the I group due to a wound, concussion, injury received during the service in the law enforcement bodies or disease obtained during the service in the law enforcement bodies, etc.
Corresponding amendments were made to Section 6 of Chapter XI "Final and Transitional Provisions" of the Law of Ukraine "On the National Police," and they regulate recalculation of pensions to officers of senior and junior ranks of the internal affairs bodies in the event of changes in the kinds of pay service and introduction of new allowance, bonus, and promotion of police officers.
