The draft law proposes to simplify access of prisoners and persons in custody to court when they appeal against decisions, activity and inactivity of the administration of pre-trial detention or sentence execution facilities.
It is envisaged to make amendments to Articles 537, 539 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and Article 5 of the Law "On court fees."
Amendments to Article 5 of the Law "On court fees" provide for setting that convicts and persons taken into custody are exempt from paying a court fee in the cases having relation to the issues settled by court during execution of sentence in accordance with Article 537 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, in the absence on their private accounts of money sufficient to pay a court fee.
