At a meeting of the Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure and Support to Work they held a seminar on the topic "Efficient Parliament: international experience. Problematic aspects and ways of perfecting the activity of People's Deputies of Ukraine" with participation of First Deputy Chairperson of the Committee Pynzenyk P.V. and members of the Committee, Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine’s Secretariat Bondarenko V.V., Director of the Legislation Institute of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Kopylenko O.L., Director at the Friedrich-Naumann-Foundation Ukraine & Belarus Miriam Kosmehl, an expert of the Foundation Manfred Richter, people's deputies of Ukraine, assistants to people's deputies of Ukraine, representatives of the Central Judicial Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, employees of the Secretariat of the Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure and Support to Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, employees of secretariats of other committees and deputy factions, groups, employees of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Legislation Institute of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Pavlo Pynzenyk, Miriam Kosmehl, Volodymyr Bondarenko, and Oleksandr Kopylenko delivered their opening speeches.

The report "Effective Parliament: the experience of organization of work in the German Bundestag, in a number of other European Parliaments” was made by Manfred Richter, an expert at the Friedrich-Naumann-Foundation Ukraine.

During the discussion of the report they talked over pressing issues concerning the problems of parliamentary activities, including the issue of ethics, and ways of their solution taking into account best practices of the German Bundestag.

They declared that the use of experience of European Parliaments would in general contribute to the improvement of Ukrainian Parliament’s activity towards the increase of its efficiency.
