Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopts as a basis draft law "On amendments to Law of Ukraine "On pretrial detention (as to implementation of certain Council of Europe standards)"

The draft law proposes to supplement the Law "On pretrial detention" with a new Article 131 "Provision of Internet access to persons taken into custody" as well as to make amendments to Articles 7, 9, 11, 12 and Article 13 of the Law, with drafting the latter in a new wording, to bring the legislation of Ukraine, regulating the procedure and conditions of holding of persons taken into custody, in line with standards of human rights limitations defined in the acts of the Council of Europe.
Respective draft law was registered under No. 2291a.
